1957 Appointed franchise holder of NISSAN/Datsun in Malaysia, the first Japanese cars sold in Malaysia.
1970 NISSAN/Datsun became the best selling model in Malaysia.
1974 Tan Chong Motor Holdings Berhad was listed on stock exchange of Kuala Lumpur.
1976 Assembly plant in Segambut began operations.
1977 Assembly of NISSAN Diesel trucks also started.
1983 Marketing of heavy industrial and construction equipment began.
1993 Tan Chong Motor Assembly plant (Segambut) received ISO 9002 certification, the first motor assembly plant in South East Asia to be accredited.
1994 Export of locally - assembled NISSAN C22 Vanette to East Asia countries such as Papua New Guinea, Brunei, Fiji and Bangladesh.
1998 Restructuring of holding company with the new listing of Tan Chong International Limited on the Hong Kong stock exchange.

2003

 Launched of a globally successful model - the new NISSAN X-Trail that futher strengthened Nissan's product line-up.
2004 Witnessed the successful launch of new NISSAN Frontier, a Sport Utility Truck (SUT) that also opened up an entirely new market segment for NISSAN in Malaysia.

ETCM/NISSAN ranked No:1 in the Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) by J.D.Power Asia Pacific in areas of vehicle sales and delivery process.

2005 Appointment of Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ECTM) as the franchise holder of Nissan Motorsports (NISMO) in Malaysia.

ETCM/NISSAN ranked No.1 again in J.D Power Asia Pacific SSI (Sales Satisfaction Index) survey.

ETCM/NISSAN ranked No.1 again in J.D Power Asia Pacific CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) survey.

ECTM has been awarded 2005 Global Nissan Sales & Service Way Award by Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. Japan.

Witnessed the successful launch of new facelift version of the Cefiro, X-trail & Sentra.

2006

NISSAN Frontier ranked No.1 in J.D Power Asia Pacific's Malaysia 2005/2006 Initial Quality Survey (IOS) for the pickup segment.

ETCM/NISSAN ranked No.2 in J.D Power Asia Pacific CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) survey.

ETCM/NISSAN ranked No.2 in J.D Power Asia Pacific SSI (Sales Satisfaction Index) survey.

NISSAN X-Trail NISMO Limited Edition has been awarded the Autocar Asean Car of the Year 2005/2006 Award for the Mid-Size SUV Category .
